Matt Jones
Founder, Matt Jones International

Matt Jones is a world-class professional keynote speaker and author. He is committed to motivating audiences and delivering strategies to help the organization thrive amid adversity and excel to new heights of performance. Matt's story has been featured in both international magazine and TV shows. He holds a BA in Communication, MLS in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership, and is pursuing his doctorate in Organizational Leadership. Matt is currently the author of ten books.

Matt's keynotes are based of his inspiring life experiences of overcoming cancer three times when doctors did not think he would live, surviving a bone marrow transplant, relearning how to walk, and completing seven marathons on seven continents. Using his experience of overcoming insurmountable odds, Matt incorporates psychology tools from the field of Positive Psychology to motivate individuals and organizations to achieve greater victory. He uses stories, illustrations, and humor to educate audiences while keeping them engaged. Matt also tailors his talk to fit the needs, objectives, and goals of his audiences. He has spoken for organizations in several industries including banking, construction, education, engineering, finance, insurance, government, healthcare, human resources, non-profit, property management, public safety, real estate, technology, travel and several more.

Richard A. Savino, CPIA, CIC

President, PIA National

Richard is a managing partner of Broadfield Group, member of P.C.F Insurance services, a National agency with Broadfield’s foundation beginning in 1864. His personal book of business niched in the construction industry and related trades.

He has been truly dedicated to and heavily committed to the insurance industry for the past 44 years sitting on various committees, including: the Board of Directors of PIA New York as President in 2010 - 2011, as Chair of PIA North-East management services (for profit side), a PIANY PAC chair in 2015 -2022, currently as PIA-National representative for PIANY, the AIMS Society Board, and President-Elect for the National Professional Insurance Agents Association.

On behalf of PIANY, Rich has done local legislative visits giving him the opportunity to do one on one meetings with local leaders by attending political events for the last 24 years and including the FLS for the last 19 years. His involvement in the Legislative committee not only allows him the opportunity to provide opinion and guidance with issues but keeps him at the forefront of all current issues, working closely with the lobbyists at PIANY. This granted him the opportunity to testify to the Dept of Financial services concerning issues related to the Scaffolding Law.

In addition to his involvement in the insurance industry, he has been the go-to for the NY State Builders Association on issues that effect the industry such as the NY Labor law. He served on the NYSBA Board and was NYSBA Associate of the Year in 2002 where he also became a "Spike" recipient, a recognized award in this association. During this time, he participated in the sales and marketing of NYSBA-sponsored insurance products that he was instrumental in developing since 1996. Richard is Past-Vice President and has served on the Board of Directors for the RCBRA (Rockland County Builders and Remodelers Association), earning RCBRA Associate of the Year in 2001.

Richard is highly active in his local community, as a past coach of Little League Baseball and writing a weekly sports fan column in the Warwick Dispatch, a local newspaper. He is a member of the Central Orange Italian American association where he dedicates his time to many fund-raising efforts that help support many local not for profits and provide scholarships to Orange County High School students.

Mohamad Momin

Mohamad Momin is a father of two kids and has been in the insurance industry since 2000. He has two insurance agency locations in Texas. The Agency focuses on primarily commercial insurance business with a 70/30 split. He also has several other businesses, of one which is VA Simplified. VA Simplified specializes in Virtual assistance for insurance and other business industry.

When he is not working, he loves to work with nonprofits such as Aga Khan Foundation USA, which helps elevate poverty around the world.

Gunnar Kephart
Producer, Texas Insurance Professional Services, Inc.

Gunnar Kephart joined Texas Insurance Professional Services, Inc. in 2023 after serving for 12 years as a Professional Liability Specialist at the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas Association. He helped Independent Agency owners with their E&O risk management programs, including E&O risk mitigation and transfer. In addition, he wrote and co-presented videos such as “A Practical Approach to E&O Risk Management” and ”E&O Claims Do’s and Don’ts.”

In the twenty years before he specialized in Insurance Agent’s E&O, Kephart was an agency owner and an award-winning commercial lines producer in several private and publicly-held agencies, primarily in the North Texas area. His agency ownership experiences were in San Antonio and the Texas hill country.

A holder of a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, Kephart was also a Naval Aviator.

Tim McClendon began his insurance career in 1972 and is now Managing Partner of Hertel McClendon, L.L.P. in Fort Worth, Texas. The agency maintains an additional location in Austin, Texas. The agency is affiliated with Insurors Group, L.L.C., comprised of ten professional agencies in Fort Worth, Austin and all over Texas. Tim earned the Certified Insurance Counselor professional designation in 1977, the Certified Workers Compensation Advisor designation in 2004, and is a licensed risk manager. His clients include manufacturers, printers, law firms, technology, retail and contracting risks.

A graduate of Texas Christian University, Tim holds a BBA degree in Management. He is a member of the TCU Lettermen’s Association and the TCU Alumni Association.

As a member of the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors National Faculty, Tim teaches insurance courses throughout Texas and around the country including Certified Insurance Service Representatives, Certified Insurance Counselors and Ruble Seminars. Tim was chosen as one of seven charter members of The National Alliance’s Distinguished Faculty in 2014.

He is a past chairman of the Board of Governors for the Society of CISR. served as Chairman of the Technical Affairs Committee for the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and is a past chairman of Mid-America Insurance Conference.

He is a past "Teacher of the Year" for Professional Insurance Agents of Texas and has been a member of the adjunct faculty teaching insurance and risk management courses for the M. J. Neeley School of Business at TCU. He has taught classes for the University of Dallas MBA program, the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, CPCU Society, CFP program and in-house classes for many insurance carriers and agencies. Tim also serves as an expert witness in insurance-related litigation.

Thomas H. Wetzel
CEO, Thomas H. Wetzel and Associates

Tom Wetzel is 30-year insurance industry veteran and digital marketing champion for independent agents. He started his own insurance marketing firm in 2000 and offers a wide range of services including a cyber assessment designed exclusively for independent insurance agencies, HI-TRUST-certified messaging, website development, content creation, and the Wetzel Digital Marketing Roadmap©.

He started his career with the Insurance Information Institute, headed a state association of insurers and developed campaigns for insurers and associations, including the Society of CPCU.

He serves on the faculty of the Academy of Insurance and is a longtime member of the Insurance Marketing & Communications Association. He writes a regular column for agents in the Insurance Journal and has authored many articles and papers for industry publications including PIA Connection, PIA Agency Marketing Guide and Leader’s Edge. He has presented hundreds of presentations over the years to national and state agent associations, primarily on cybersecurity in recent years.
