David Gorman founded his agency, Red Gorman Insurance, in 2023.  He began his insurance career in 1993, selling life insurance for John Hancock Financial.  In 1995, he sold property & casualty insurance for A-Family Insurance, which later became part of AAASAP Insurance. David also served two years as a company marketing representative at Dealers Insurance Group Inc.

He was appointed to the board of directors of Texas Professional Insurance Agents in 2013.  His service has included president-elect, president, and past president, and he has served as national director since 2019. David was awarded the prestigious Texas Professional Insurance Agents David Almany Volunteer of the Year Award. David is a former member of the American Insurance Marketing and Sales Society (AIMS) and served on its board from 2018 to 2022.

David serves as president-elect of the Professional Insurance Agents National Association. He has also served in other capacities, including being elected secretary/assistant treasurer in 2023, treasurer in 2024, and currently serving as co-chair of the PIA PAC board, as well as a member of the Young Agents Task Force, Finance Committee, and the Products and Services Board.
